We are in the middle of a celebration. LSLP turns 10 in 2022! A milestone only possible because of all the young researchers who have left their print in this vast community we call the #LSLPLegion and in the real "Project" that has been telling the world that "Literacies in Second Languages" is a concept from the Global South that, we believe, holds the key to the intersection of literacy studies and language education.
Over the years, we have played with logos, slide decks, and different designs for our website. For our celebration, we also decided that it was time to reaffirm our identity as LSLP and therefore the next best thing was getting the domain lslp.org for ourselves. LSLP is still the Literacies in Second Languages Project, but LSLP is our worldwide brand, just as #LSLPLegion identifies our community and our ethos. Our goal for this next decade is to solidify our leadership in the field of literacies research in Colombia while we further project ourselves globally.

our design: a look at the future with a nod to our history..
A LOOK AT OUR (r)eVOLUTION
You will find some changes in this site, both in terms of design and layout. We reorganized the publications and presentations pages to highlight our work. Separate pages for articles/chapters and theses/grey literature and for international, national, and invited talks are now available. We are reorganizing our researcher profiles to have more information about them, including links to their academic media trails.
But we also have nods to our history. For our logo, we just changed the font for a more modern style, but keeping the original concept we developed in 2017. And believe us, we spent hours tinkering with new alternatives for logos, always returning here. We can't really outdo this logo. We can just perfect it.
One interesting addition to the site and logo is the background color you will see in our pages and if you look very closely at the border in the LSLP logo: Until now, the border was white. This time, the pages on our site and the border in the logo have a very subtle shade of grey (#e0e0e0 Hex Code), one that we are now calling Legacy Grey. That specific shade of grey was the one that was initially featured in the first official logo for SRG-L2. We cannot forget our past and how it shaped our present and give us clues to the future. The return of this shade of grey to complement our Black (#000000 Hex Code) and our Legion Green (#87c721 Hex Code) is an indication that we will never forget where we started as we look forward to our bright future.
Welcome to our home on the web. Welcome to the #LSLPLegion as we project ourselves into our second decade. We welcome you to continue dreaming big with us today and every day...
